Many hands needed in running track club

Thanks for the credit, but . . . I read Bill Masich's comments in the story on Monday about his father and all the tremendous work happening at the track club.

I read Bill Masich's comments in the story on Monday about his father and all the tremendous work happening at the track club.

It is very kind of him to lump me in with all of the great people in the club who are working to pick up the slack that will undoubtedly be left when Tom finally takes his well-deserved break.

Unfortunately, I don't deserve much of the credit Bill gave me - I am just a grunt, a parent who is happy to show up on the day of competition and lend a hand.

The real praise goes to others he mentioned, like Brian Martinson and Scott Back, and to the ones he didn't - the rest of the executive: Sheila Hepburn, Judy Gaiesky, Bill Williams, Chris Thornhill and Sally Balazs.

They are the ones who show up at the track five and six days a week to help the coaches keep things running smoothly.

After all these years, Bill and family will finally have Tom and Anne back, and they can rest assured that Tom has taught all of us one lasting lesson, which is that teamwork is needed to build and maintain something as special as the Prince George Track and Field club.
