Making the best at the Market

The Farmers' Market adds life and energy to the downtown area. It is so unfortunate that there is this rift amongst the vendors.

The Farmers' Market adds life and energy to the downtown area. It is so unfortunate that there is this rift amongst the vendors. It makes sense to have the market in one venue and it would be wonderful if the city would step in and provide some assistance. A year round building with seasonal stalls is the goal. A Market Plaza designed for that purpose would be the ideal. Until that happens the directors are trying to make the best of what is available. Yes the present building is too small and not easily accessible and Yes the street and parking lot are less than terriifc but the music and the food are great and the little courtyard is very cozy and inviting. People create the atmosphere. With some corporate sponsorship perhaps the parking lot and street can be made more appealing.. a few benches, some flowers or greenery and new sidewalks and paving would make a huge difference.

A vibrant, united market should be promoted by all vendors. Time to pull together not apart.
