Thoughts of David Mah keep returning. How unfair he lost his fight with cancer. It makes me realize how lucky I am.
Ted and I met David when we'd only just arrived in Prince George. He was with The Citizen's little-sister paper, Prince George This Week. He was so instantly likeable - friendly, unassuming, obliging. He joked that he wanted us to bring lots of actresses to Prince George and then there was that warm and shy little smile that everyone remembers.
David probably didn't know how much we liked having him around. We should have said so. Now he's gone it makes us think of and appreciate his Citizen cohorts over the years: Brent Braaten, Dave Milne, Chuck Nisbett. We'd like them to know we're glad we've had the pleasure to know them all. Just like David Mah, we think his photographer colleagues have all been a credit to The Citizen.
