Love them or lose them

I again must state my case for the Cougars, an excellent team of boys that are being well coached by class acts in a land without hockey fans. What does it take to wake people up? A season ticket for a senior is only $9.

A season ticket for a senior is only $9.80 per game, an adult is under $15 for two hours of great entertainment.

There isn't a bad seat in the house and the crying will start if we lose this team to a more appreciative community and we have no main tenant for this building. The team that we always wanted is here so wait no longer.

I realize they cannot always be at their best but they are doing their part. Let's do ours and show them some P.G. support before it's too late.

So many people we talk to at games just shake their heads at the tiny crowds the boys play in front of. In Portland 10,000 fans go to the rink and the prices would stagger you, yet here, where they call home, the pitiful support they receive is becoming a disgrace.

There are so many retirees around now and so many seniors. Surely on winter nights instead of staying home, it would be a good idea to get out, walk around and meet people. At the same time you see two hours of entertainment.

By the way, they are fighting for first place. The team is currently on an eight-game home stand so it is a good time to see what they're all about.

Children go on Saturdays for $5 - a good outing for grandparents and grandchildren. Some of the old enthusiasm is needed again.

After coaching here for almost 40 years and having been born here, I have to say this team needs our support and deserves it.

Come back to the rink before it is too late.
