In regards to the lockdown of all local area schools on Thursday, how dare the police allow us to send our children to school, knowing full well there is a threat of violence?

This, from a local, trustworthy news source: police are taking "this page and the many comments on it very seriously and have been engaged throughout the night."

If, indeed, our local RCMP "have been engaged throughout the night" why on Earth did they let us send our kids to school? Now, parents hear the news and fear for our children's safety.

We are not allowed to go pick up our kids and some schools won't even answer their phones, letting parents be assured that their child is safe.

I understand that the RCMP feel that the threat is not credible, but that doesn't necessarily allay the fears of many moms and dads out there. It doesn't necessarily allay the fears of the kids who are not allowed to use the washrooms or look out the windows.

"Code Yellow" is what they are calling it. Code Anything scares the hell out of me. If I was made aware of this, you can bet I would have let my kids sleep in this morning, safely away from any threat of clowns or any other lowlife targeting schools.

The RCMP and whoever else was involved in this investigation were, in my opinion, thoughtless in not letting parents know that the possibility of a lockdown was imminent. This would have allowed parents to make the decision of whether or not to send their kids to school. All we want to do is get to our kids and they (the schools and RCMP) are not letting that happen. We are scared and so are our kids.

Like I said, if the powers that be would have let us know, we wouldn't be in this predicament.
