The theory of global warming as a result of greenhouse gas accumulation appears to be gaining traction despite Art Betke's rebuttals. It could happen, in the near future, that the world community will finally lose patience with Canada, stop trying to reach a consensus , and tell us how much fossil fuel we are allowed to produce. This might seem like uncalled for interference in our national affairs but, if a large part of Bangladesh is slipping beneath the ocean, it will be warranted interference. Should that happen, Canada will see a stock market crash of substantial size.
Many companies will suddenly be worthless and stock portfolios will be junk. The Harper conservatives will have to bear a lot of the blame because they have encouraged the over investment in the Alberta tar sands. However , if Christie Clark presses ahead with her plan to pay off the Provincial debt with LNG sales, she will not only be disappointed but she will share the blame for destroying the wealth of the very people who work and pay to elect her.
