So Mrs. Serup feels the pipeline would be OK because it creates jobs. We humans have been on this planet for thousands of years, yet a pipeline with jobs for 30 to 50 years is OK. Are we, 30 years later, still not dealing with the Exxon spill up in Alaska. Jobs are needed but allowing other countries like the U.S. and China to get rich off our resources, with no danger to their environment to me is not worth it. Building refineries here beside the oil wells creating long-term jobs may get our children out of poverty, since B.C. has the highest child poverty rate in the country. So maybe Mrs. Serup should think about 100 or 200 years from now if she wants to talk the future of our children, because 50 years is only a drop in the barrel for mankind and that's all they said the life span of this pipeline will be.
As for others who say "get a more fuel-efficient car" or "don't drive so much" or "find other alternative fuels," I say you live in a bubble world.
