I am so impressed with the courageous decision the school board had made to support changing the name of Kelly Road School to better reflect the natural history of the area.
I wasn’t aware that the area I live in was once a grizzly bear trail, or that that there was a tree in the area that bore the mark of a grizzly that was nine feet off the ground. We know so little about the Indigenous history of the area. This is a small step to help overcome our ignorance.
