Another stat holiday

Here we go again. Trying to make amends and make others pay for it. The government wants to make a statutory holiday to commemorate the harm done to Indigenous people. Okay, nothing wrong with that, we can all stand another paid day off.

Here we go again. Trying to make amends and make others pay for it. The government wants to make a statutory holiday to commemorate the harm done to Indigenous people.

Okay, nothing wrong with that, we can all stand another paid day off. Unfortunately, it's going to be governments and businesses that are going to pay the price.

Those that should be paying should be the religious organizations that perpetrated this indignity upon the Indigenous people. They should be sued for damages and costs, disenfranchised and have all their assets and money forfeited to government.

Most religions, if not all, are just a bunch of people who prey on the minds of the weak and vulnerable.

Passing the plate is tantamount to begging any way you want to cut it. Telling someone if they don't contribute or participate will land them in unimaginable suffering.

What a load of hokum.

Religions have been the cause of most wars and created fear, pain and suffering among its supplicants.

The reality of life is that you are born, live and survive, then you die and turn to dust and dirt. Any one who tells you there is a resurrection is shining you on.

The only afterlife is what you pass on to your descendants.

If you sit and think about it for a bit, you realize that the truth of the matter is no one really cares what happens to you as an individual.

You were born alone and you will die the same way. Faith in anything has nothing to do with it. So the next time someone tells you to believe, say "I believe I'll have another beer."

You're probably better off.
