Letters: We must have more MOTI attention for Highway 101

'All our local governments need to put more effective pressure on the Ministry to do its job. For heaven’s sake, it’s just one, not very long, piece of highway!'

Editor:

Yet again, we witness the tragic results of provincial neglect of road safety measures on highway 101. Deficient line painting contributed to the death of Gillian Booth, hit head on by a car in her lane.

Again, no intent. Again, one life lost one life horribly traumatized.

This is another example of the MoTI’s lack of interest in maintaining even the most basic safety standards on the Coast. Not even keeping the lines painted, the least expensive and difficult elment of road safety. This has to stop.

All our local governments need to put more effective pressure on the Ministry to do its job. For heaven’s sake, it’s just one, not very long, piece of highway!
