Letter to the editor: Sampson shouldn’t have apologized

"People that destroy other peoples property  and have no respect for other people are dangerous losers."

I don’t feel Coun. Kyle Sampson has to apologize for calling criminals losers.

People that destroy other peoples property  and have no respect for other people are dangerous losers.

I think he had a lot of guts to speak out. Who do we  consider to be our most vulnerable? It’s not criminal.

We need to know the stories of the people that are living on the streets of our downtown.

Where are they from? Are they drug addicted? Why are they coming here? How are they getting here? What are they expecting when they get here? Do they have ID?

Our downtown is a mess. Just drive down to Third and George. The homeless problem is overwhelming.

Prince George can’t cope with the problems from other towns and cities and we should not have to.

We need to hear the stories from businesses and what they have to put up with and residents that have had homes broken into and workers that have been attacked. These are all stories we need to hear so we know what is going on in our city.

We have a nice new pool downtown; we need to be proud of our downtown and we need it to be safe.

I disagree with the judge that thinks the tent city is a good idea. He must have a nice home out in the country and has no idea what this problem has been like for our downtown and the residential area surrounding it.

It’s pretty bad when people are stealing the remembrance plaques off the benches in the park.
