Let's go for a ride

It was a lovely day. Soon it would be spring, my pleasure was increased when I heard a robin sing. I said to my wife, who sat reading by my side, "I'll go start the car, "let's go for a ride.

It was a lovely day. Soon it would be spring, my pleasure was increased when I heard a robin sing.

I said to my wife, who sat reading by my side, "I'll go start the car, "let's go for a ride."

We got in the car and started down the street, my wife smiled and said "this ride will be a treat."

Soon, to my displeasure, I saw a pothole, on my right, and before I could swerve to miss it, another came in sight.

My dismay increased when, as far as I could see, the road was full of potholes, just waiting there for me.

The ride became a contest then, to see what would win, paint job, fender, or the tire and the rim.

So, don't underestimate the challenge, if you wish to survive the potholes and the idiots who drive.

Cursing them or wishing will not make them go away, so drive around them, if you can, for they are here to stay.
