Let's get the question right for the flouride referendum

We must vote soon, and let's hope the wording on the referendum is clearly stated, as in 'yes, add it' or 'No, do not add it' Then let's hope the city council will listen to the people.

Personally, my vote is 'no' because our water supply is, (as it should be), kept safe from naturally occurring contaminants. If Northern Health wishes to supply fluoride to people as a method of preventing tooth decay, perhaps the delivery system should be changed. It could be offered in drinking water containers for those who wish to have it, or to dental practitioners as a better way to monitor the results. Putting it into the main city water supply is, as one other letter-writer put it, "mass medication", plus it is wasteful, as the majority of it is flushed, washed, and sprinkled away, not even reaching a mouth.
