What is it about Donald Trump that causes people to abandon rational thought and logic and imagine all sorts of ridiculous scenarios? Girl Guides of Canada leadership seems to have fallen victim to this malaise and suspended trips to the U.S. because Muslim Girl Guides might not be allowed in?
What utter nonsense. Muslims cross that border every day. No border guard is going to pick on kids who happen to be Muslim.
Girl Guide leaders have decided to become political and take a stand by punishing the children in their charge. It's insane, a manifestation of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
Neil Godbout apparently suffers from the same malady, calling that decision to avoid a nonexistent risk "brave, principled and responsible." Kidding, right?
Whatever happened to common sense?
Meanwhile, the Washington Post, instead of commending Vice President Mike Pence for conscientiously ensuring that there is never even the slightest appearance of impropriety that could reflect badly on his marriage, went nuts.
Taking such care with his marriage, according to the Post, means he views women primarily as sexual temptations.
Not so. It is much more likely that Pence is dedicated to his marriage and is well aware that men and women in some situations find it very easy to succumb to temptation and that men in general have a well-deserved reputation for sexual pursuit of women. Even the slightest hint of inappropriate behaviour on his part would be seized upon by the media as an opportunity for character assassination, not to mention the very real possibility of attempts at sexual entrapment as a means to take him down.
For a left wing politician, such transgressions are almost expected and seldom result in much difficulty for the offender (Bill Clinton comes to mind, well known as a sexual predator and philanderer but still adored by the media and much of the public) but for a conservative it would most likely be a career ender. If more men displayed the same attitude as Pence, there would be a lot fewer broken homes.
Still afflicted by TDS, Godbout agrees with the Washington Post and goes farther, interpreting Pence's caution as viewing "women as seductresses eager to lead him into temptation" and that he views another man's wife as "just another piece of her husband's property."
Get real, Neil! That's 100 per cent invention on your part.
You have no basis to make such claims. I can only surmise that you see Pence as a good and honourable man but feel compelled to dig up something, anything, some kind of fault, because of his association with Trump. It just doesn't make sense - with all the faults Trump has, why do people feel compelled to invent nonsense about him and his administration? It's like they're deranged.
