I find it unfortunate that the majority of our councillors will not agree to attend a public meeting once the final core services report is released. While it is true that the core review process has involved public input opportunities, once the final report is released Council will be making very important without consulting with their community.

Community Conversation, a meeting which is being organized by the community, is the perfect opportunity for councillors to listen to the community's concern. They are not being asked to share their views nor are they being asked to comment on the community's views. I believe the purpose of this event is for community members to inform their elected officials of what kind of city they want to live in.

We elect Mayor and Council to represent us, not KPMG. It seems only logical that once a report is released which will affect every community member that council take time to hear how their community feels.
