Lawn bowling has the reputation of being only for senior citizens.
Well, it is a great sport to keep seniors active, but we also welcome people who are somewhat younger than qualifying for pension.
It does provide fresh air, exercise and an engaging social environment.
One real advantage that lawn bowling has over some other sports is the flexibility of commitment. The club currently bowls at four different times each week, and members have no obligation to attend any or all of them. We proceed to make up teams each time with whatever members show up and I would say that all seem to have fun.
Some bowlers are more skilled than others, but it does not seem to matter - everyone who comes, plays and is engaged.
