Everyone it seems has some comment about the state of our medical system.
I recently had an adventure-filled holiday Monday that involved my appendix needing to vacate my body.
As I sat in the emergency room in both Fort St. James and then in Prince George, I experienced and witnessed the full extent of the kindness and compassion of nurses, doctors, admitting nurses (who really should get a gold star, or maybe two), technicians, and last but certainly not least the surgical crew (and there are a few of them).
It was such a big day for me but was such a whirlwind of events ("stand here", "hold your breath", "take a deep breath", "does it hurt here, OW YES!") that I can't remember one single name, and the faces are a bit of a blur too.
The amount of people who pass through each of these caring hands is amazing.
That those caring hands remain at their best, when we are most definitely not at ours, is nothing short of a miracle.
Three cheers and a high five for all things medical in B.C.
