This is a letter to the city and whoever came up with the plans for building the new seating in the Kin 3 arena.
The old seating in Kin 3 was two-tiered bench style and quite adequate. The new seating is absolutely horrible.
The plastic seats are situated too close to the glass and whoever is watching has no perifierial vision at all. The ceiling heaters are aimed behind the seats and of no benefit if you are sitting. The seats are all attached and once you have sat down it is hard to get back out. These seats are a fire hazard since there is only a break in the seats after every ten.
This arena hosts many kids practices and games and many family members come to watch. I believe the amount of support for family and friends playing in Kin 3 will drop since it is very difficult for seniors to move in and out of the seats, there is minimal room for young children to move between the seats and the glass, small children cannot see over the height of the boards, there is far less seating available than before and anyone who is a large person cannot fit in the seats at all.
It is obvious that whoever came up with this design has never been in a hockey arena and has never watched a game of hockey in their life. City of PG, please remove these seats and make a new plan.
