The city made a bad civic decision awarding their coverall business to an out-of-town supplier.
No matter what spin Mr. Van Adrichem puts on it, the city makes the final decision on how our (the taxpayers) money is spent and I would rather have a business that hires locally, pays taxes locally and supports local businesses and charities be awarded a contract that benefits the city of Prince George and its residents.
The return is an investment in our community. I asked my wife one year if she wanted to do our Christmas shopping in Vancouver and she just looked at me and said "why, Prince George has everything we need and I want to support my hometown."
Makes sense doesn't it? Not spending our money in our town just doesn't seem right.
