Whoever is responsible for the murder of Captain, the German Shepherd, deserves five years in jail, and the $75,000 fine and the lifetime ban on owing or having custody of an animal.
But, he'll probably only get some wishy-washy sentence (if any at all) because he might cry boo-hoo and say he is remorseful for his actions.
Well that's all lovely, but by the way, you still did it and you deserve big punishment for your atrocious crime. You also need to feel the same fear and pain felt by Captain, as you attacked him.
I can understand if an animal attacked you (unprovoked) and has to be destroyed, but get on with it legally and humanely, and don't violently and viciously torture it.
