Just fix it, already

How is it that we cannot repair an ailing police station? They are complaining about sewer - fix it, elevators - fix them. Add two storeys while you're at it because it was built with that in mind. That building is not old.

How is it that we cannot repair an ailing police station? They are complaining about sewer - fix it, elevators - fix them. Add two storeys while you're at it because it was built with that in mind. That building is not old. My house is old and when something goes wrong, I fix it or pay someone to fix it. The Ramada spent millions on repairs, which seems to make sense rather than moving out and spending money on a new one. Likewise for The Keg. Asking the public to repair this facility is justified but the expense to rebuild is not. Governments somehow think the taxpayers' wealth is endless. It's inexcusable to even suggest spending that obscene amount of money on a police station when we are presently so far in debt. The servicing of our debt is more than most of us would agree to. If the city is suggesting any building that old should be replaced rather than repaired, I would be willing to pay more taxes toward new schools. The procedure taken by the city to "appear" to be practicing democracy regarding this issue, is failing miserably.
