I am so embarrassed with the local support of the Prince George Cougars.
The support in the initial years filled the new arena and the team returned the support with great hockey.
I was proud of the turnout, where we watched the likes of Chara, Hunter, Petrovicky, Hamhuis, etc.
Most of the games were close to full house, if not sold out.
I moved away from Prince George a few years ago and started following the Cougars this year as my grandson had the opportunity to play for them.
Most of the games followed were by radio, and I enjoyed them.
For the first time, I was able to watch the recent game versus Medicine Hat and was shocked with the empty seats.
Yes empty seats.
I was embarrassed, to say the least.
My message to the owners of the Cougars: Move the team to a city that would appreciate this quality of hockey.
Obviously Prince George no longer has fans for hockey.
So sorry, but what a loss.
