"Government is a broker in pillage, and every election is a sort of advance auction in stolen goods." H.L. Mencken
I wonder what would have happened in the following events if we were really a democracy and the people were consulted.
Would we have approved our involvement in two wars?
Would we have approved a billion-dollar expenditure for the G8 and 12?
Would we approve the massive expenditure for jet planes in order to bomb the crap out of more foreign countries and thereby increase our image on the world's stage?
Would we allow $50 million to disappear in a Conservative riding and ignore the auditor General when she tries to report it?
Would we have an election with all its costs and aggravation?
Would we accept the argument from the people responsible for these events that the economy is very fragile so you had better re-elect them with a majority?
If they can do all this with a minority government, Imagine the havoc they will create with a majority.
If we re-elect these Conservatives, we will truly be, as one of the local Harper clones put it, blind and stupid.
I guess I will vote for the Green Party as they at least have no track record for fraud and deception which the other parties seem to be mired in.
One day when Harper is removed from the stage with a little help from an informed public, the world will flock to our door asking if we can spare this genius as they are having trouble with their economies and deciding who to bomb next.
Let the elephant next door trample on the oil fields of the world in the name of democracy.
We can try for a peaceful way to save our planet and our people, which should keep our brain power and resources busy for what years we have left.
