Intersection worrying

I wish to express my concerns regarding the intersection at Gladstone Drive/St. Lawerence/Domano Blvd. I have written to the city two times stating that someone will get killed if this meeting of the streets is not rectified.

I wish to express my concerns regarding the intersection at Gladstone Drive/St. Lawerence/Domano Blvd.

I have written to the city two times stating that someone will get killed if this meeting of the streets is not rectified. Sure enough, recently there was a three car pileup. I have never received a reply from the city.

When you drive down St. Lawrence to Domano to the stop sign, you are unable to see the cars headed up towards Highway 16 on Domano in time to make a safe left hand turn, or to continue through to Gladstone. No one drives at 50 kilometres. Because Domano is such a straight long road before the curve, most vehicles travel at excessive speeds. At night, I can hear the street racers.

It's even more dangerous for pedestrians. When the crosswalk signal is activated, many people just don't see the lights turn red. There are also no signals at the St. Lawrence or Gladstone sides to inform the drivers that there is a crosswalk light on. The stop signs are not enough.

I suggest a flashing red - one-way stop. The traffic needs to be slowed down heading to Highway 16 for the safety of the high school students who need to cross Domano at both crosswalks. Just watch all the vehicles rushing to work in the morning, or all the vehicles rushing home at night. I hope it doesn't take a death to fix this problem.
