In defence of copyright

I couldn't disagree more with your editorial slight on the local artist who is standing up for her work. The fact that you have already tried and convicted her before the facts have been heard by a judge is wrong in every way.

I couldn't disagree more with your editorial slight on the local artist who is standing up for her work.

The fact that you have already tried and convicted her before the facts have been heard by a judge is wrong in every way. She obviously had an agreement in place and feels that contract was broken, or so it would seem.

Jennifer Pighin has every right to fight for her copyright.

When did Mr. Godbout become a judge or an expert on this matter?

Twice I have been to court to protect my work which was used without permission for someone else's monetary gain other than my own, the latter of which was in Prince George with this publication.

I applaud Ms. Pighin's stand to fight not only for herself, but other artists who may one day have to go to court to protect their hard-earned copyright.

Her efforts will do nothing but good for artists from all walks of life, be they full-time professionals or casual.
