huge praise for local kids

In a world that only seems to report on the bad kids in the world, I would like to give huge praise to some truly wonderful young people from Prince George that I met this past weekend in Valemount.

In a world that only seems to report on the bad kids in the world, I would like to give huge praise to some truly wonderful young people from Prince George that I met this past weekend in Valemount.

I am a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 266 in Valemount. This past weekend we hosted the 60th anniversary of the Canoe Mountain Wreck at our legion. It was a very special event with many distinguished military personnel, included were the Prince George Rocky Mountain Cadets. What an amazing group of young people they all are! I have never met such a respectful, polite, personable, pleasant, helpful group of young people ranging from 13 to 18. They each conducted themselves so well and were flawless in our parade. They also worked very hard helping out in all capacities with the behind the scenes running of this well attended event. If you are lucky enough to be the parent of one of these extraordinary young adults you should be very proud of them! I learned a lot this weekend about the Cadet organization and I only wish that young people in Valemount could have the same amazing experiences that these Cadets are receiving. As with every organization I am sure it would not exist if not for the tireless volunteers who mentor these young people. With hear and soul the mentors of the Cadets leave big footprints in the lives of these kids and I hope they know how grateful I am sure the kids are for this. It is critical that organizations like this one get lots of community support so that more and more young adults get the huge benefits this program provide.

Sincerely yours
