As I was in Prince George on Aug. 20, from 4-8 p.m., I decided to attend the B.C. Transit Public Engagement session regarding Highway 16 transit service, promoted by saying: "We need your help to complete the plan."

The session was also advertised as being held at the B.C. Northern Exhibition. I paid my $5 fee to get inside the gate even though the gate keeper had no idea what I was talking about.

She pointed me to the BCNE administration building where no one there had any idea what I was talking about either.

For over an hour I wandered around from building to building, talked to security guards, a local FM radio station, and the folks at a booth operated by the provincial NDP. No one knew what I was talking about.

There was a two-storey building with lights on upstairs that was locked, with a sign on the doors, "Closed For Washroom Cleaning" which never re-opened while I was there, and had no signs indicating the engagement session was there.

One individual I met along the way suggested I was wasting my time trying to locate the public engagement sessions as the government and transit had already made up their minds on the issue. Perhaps he was right.
