I'm a delivery driver and I've noticed something a little disturbing. There are way too many houses where the number is not clearly displayed.
My concern is that if a delivery driver is having problems finding the number, what about emergency services?
They need to find you as soon as possible. Take some time during the day and night to check it out. Stand across the street from your house and look. There should be no obstructions (such as bushes). The colour of the numbers should also be visible against the colour of the house.
At night, make sure that the lights you will be turning on will illuminate the numbers. Finally if you are expecting someone at night (delivery or otherwise), please make sure you turn on those lights.
If the lights are movement controlled, please disable the movement function until after their arrival so that the numbers are able to be seen.
By doing the above, deliveries and emergency services should be able to find your house in a timely manner.
