We would like to express the family's heartfelt gratitude for the compassion and kindness shown to them since the recent tragedy that claimed the lives of Heather Kress, Matt and Leah Altizer, and their children, Jonathan and Emily.
There are so many to thank but we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge a few that have been invaluable in helping our families to deal with this devastating tragedy. They are:
Bob Verbree of the Williams Lake RCMP detachment for keeping us abreast of the details as they unfolded; Coroner Scott McLaughlin and the entire team for their compassion and sensitivity throughout the horrific crash investigation; Colleen Sparrow and the entire staff of The Prince George Citizen for their extraordinary support and kindness.
From the very beginning, they opened their doors (sometimes after hours) and assisted our families in whatever way was needed, often extending themselves beyond expectation, and even visiting us in our homes.
Eric Skaarup at Assman's Funeral Chapel for assisting our families in caring for all the necessary paperwork and providing thoughtful suggestions for the memorial arrangements; Diane Bilodeau and Bob Lalonde at the Prince George Civic Centre for their kind ooperation and professional attention to the details of the memorial arrangements; Olga Roberts and the staff of Westholme Graphics along with Rod Nemitz and the entire staff at Papyrus Printing for providing the beautiful memorial handouts on such short notice.
Dennis Marcotte for being willing to take on the unimaginable responsibility of representing our families and delivering such an eloquent and dignified service; Tiffany Logan, Tammy and Kelvin Gock for creating a breath-taking slide show presentation that truly captured the precious memories we hold so dear; Liz Catarino and the entire staff of the Simon Fraser Lodge for the special care that went into such a thoughtful memorial and the many sincere expressions of compassion; all the staff of Zellers for the support they have shown.
The sea of red shirts and friendly faces at the memorial was so heart-warming; The administration, staff and students of Prince George secondary and Westwood elementary schools, along with the School District No. 57 Area Support Team and Central Administration Office staff for their compassionate support and practical assistance.
While it is impossible to list everyone that has contributed to the healing process, our families continue to be comforted by the overwhelming support from our friends and the community.
We will forever treasure every flower, card, email, phone call, hug, prayer, and kind word that we have received.
The Altizer, Kress
and Roberts Families
