Heart more important than education

I would like to thank Mr. Flahery and Mr. Harper for trying to look after the young families of Canada.

I would like to thank Mr. Flahery and Mr. Harper for trying to look after the young families of Canada.

It's easy for people with wisdom and knowledge of money to criticize them, but many of us didn't have the good fortune of having parents that taught us the value of good education and couldn't help us even if they had the heart to do it because no one had taught them.

I remember when the interest rates jumped to 19 per cent in the early '80s and many people lost their jobs, cars homes etc. and I don't want it to happen again to families.

What we need in our leaders are people with a heart for others and not just for themselves. Fast money and credit and easy mortgage payments can disappear just as quickly as they appeared, and the country will be filled with houses for sale and no buyers.

Our country is getting a lot of people with a degree in this or that but no heart to do the jobs they were trained for.

The Moffat brothers were great businessmen not because of their schooling. They did not have much for that but they had a heart filled with integrity, they were trustworthy, their word was their bond, they didn't need paper. Now we have a country filled with lawyers, one writing up a contract, the next one tearing it down.

We have a justice system ruled by persecutors and lawyers given information to judges then judges making judgments on that information. Is the information accurate? Is it trustworthy?

We judge the politicians, lawyers, people in general by their appearance and words not by their character, integrity or trustworthiness, so we note in people at talk shows, stealing diamonds and fraud allegations. Why?

We have not been taught to think.

We have been taught what to think.
