In today's fast-paced world, people have a major issue with actually being forced to wait and many are exceedingly bad at waiting.
Case in point. Since my medical issues earlier this year, part of my life revolves around doctors appointments and lab work and various other procedures. All this entails waiting and I find it quite funny watching people being forced to wait and they don't handle it well. They do everything from looking at their watch to verbalization to open hostility to those around them and medical staff. The fortunate thing for me is I don't mind and never have minded waiting yet this is something many people can't seem to handle.
Yes some of it is due to lack of medical personnel and facilities but more often than not everybody wants their blood work or other lab procedure done as soon as possible so they go first thing in the morning. So they, along with 50 other people line up, then get mad because now they are forced to wait and it annoys them. Same thing for appointments at the hospital. You go in at a certain time and then you might end up waiting for an hour or more and again you lose your patience. Remember it's a hospital and if an emergency case comes in, your appointment might be longer than needed or outright cancelled as the emergency case takes precedence.
You may think you're a busy or important person and you feel the need to get stuff done right away and it annoys you to no end because you are a busy person. Would it actually hurt to slow down and enjoy life or are you too busy being self important to notice the world around you? For many of you the answer would seem to be yes, you're too busy to wait.
Too bad for you, enjoyment for me.
