I recently had to take my seven-month-old baby to the emergency room at the P.G. hospital and I was terrified.
The nurses, security guards and doctor were caring, kind and helpful and I want to say how grateful I am for that.
The waiting room was packed with people, many whom had been waiting for several hours and I overheard a lot of patients being rude to the staff.
I understand that patients are sick, in pain and tired of long waits but I want to remind everyone that it is not the hospital staff's fault.
The nurses, security guards, paramedics and custodians deserve a medal (no - not a medal - they deserve a big fat raise), for staying in the profession despite all of the government cutbacks over the years.
Next time, you are in this situation resist taking your frustration out on the wonderful people who are trying to help you, and instead save it for those who are actually to blame: the BC Liberal government.
