Over Christmas I got injured and needed to visit the hospital for stitches. While lying on the bed watching the doctor sew me up I thought about how fortunate we are to have the medical system we do. It's not perfect but it is still one of the best in the world.
I have been told the largest cause of personal bankruptcy in the United States is because of medical issues. It's bewildering to watch our American neighbours apprehensively and reluctantly stumble towards a proposed medical system already noted to be inferior to ours.
