Have I missed a revolution? Did capitalism and globalization defeat democracy?

Over the past few days I listened to Chicken Little economists tell us that the sky will fall if the Brits voted to leave the European Union.

The for-profit media have bombarded us with the Chicken Little story stating Great Britain will pay a price if it rejects the European Union.

Within minutes of the yes vote becoming known, stocks tumbled and as well as the pound.

Well the sun rose and down the road I'm sure that this will become a memory and things will turn to normal.

The very wealthy who own the media lock, stock and barrel have portrayed themselves as victims with the rejection vote.

Globalization promised to give us good high-paying jobs and high employment. Has it delivered that?

I look back over the years at a time when there wasn't a need for food banks in all towns and cities. More and more people are working longer and harder for less wages.

A lot of people no longer get health and pension benefits as part of their working wages. Working wages have not kept up with inflation for a lot of years.

With more people falling through the cracks, this leads me to believe that

globalization has been an absolute failure.

Fair trade deals are an essential part of globalization.

The very wealthy try to tell us that if we reject the Trans-Pacific Partnership the same problems may occur.

Canadians have the right to determine if they want to be part of the TPP.

This is our democratic right to oppose or support the TPP which will effect our children and their children. I for one don't need the very wealthy through their media telling me how I should tell my political representative how I want them to vote.

The big problem I have with the Trans-Pacific Partnership is secrecy around it and the lack of information the media have written about it.
