A big vote of thanks to Vina Johnson and others for the fundraising and organization of the recent trip for more than 50 elders from the Gitwangak community to attend the 37th annual elders gathering in Prince George this week. Thanks to Vina and others the trip was fully paid for. Registration, accommodation, food and transportation costs were all covered. The host Lheidii T'enneh Nation did a wonderful job of ensuring the 4,000 people attending from all over the province had a good time. The Gitwangak elders enjoyed a colourful grand entrance parade, good luncheons, a BBQ, a traditional dinner, entertainment, and an inspired speech by Grand Chief Ed John along with enough free time to enjoy a bingo or two. Many thanks to Vina and her team from all the Gitwangak elders.
