I'm wondering why the oil companies figure that Prince George should be subsidizing the rest of the province?
We've been sitting at 134.9 for quite some time now, but every B.C. community listed on the MJ Ervin Pump Price Survey (which the Citizen used to publish, but disappeared some time ago), except for Vancouver, has a lower price.
Kamloops, according to the most recent report (May 31), is at 124.7 and Victoria (which has a 3.5 cents transit tax) is sitting at 131.9. Vancouver is 2 cents higher, yet they have a 15 cents transit tax.
What is going on here? We have a refinery within the city limits, yet we are being gouged. It would be nice if someone from the oil industry would explain the disparity, but I won't hold my breath that it will happen.
