Gas prices lower in Alberta

Talk about getting hosed here in Prince George. It's great we have a refinery right here in the city that helps add to our pollution problems, but it is no help in keeping the price of gas at a reasonable rate.

We drove to Jasper then on to Edmonton from March 17 to the 22. Now Jasper being a tourist and ski destination one could understand the price of gas being high, especially as there out in the middle of nowhere, but to my surprise we only paid $ 1.19.9 a litre compared to the price here in Prince George of $ .33.9.

It even got better as we neared and entered Edmonton. Unlike Prince George, where every station charges the same price within five minutes of one station upping there price, in Edmonton it was easy to find different prices at different stations.

We found prices ranging from $1.10.9 litre to $1.12.9 a litre and one station has a sign that states four cents off regular price's on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, so at there regular price of $1.10.9 a litre you would only be paying $1.06.9 on those three days.

And as big a city as Edmonton is, we didn't find any roads that could come close to comparing with our pot-holed excuses of a road system.

Maybe it's time the Canadian Federal Competition Bureau took a look at what's happening with our gas prices and stations. And possibly some of the people looking after our infrastructure here in the city take a trip to Edmonton to learn how to maintain the road system.
