Yesterday I read with interest that our mayor's base salary has gone up from $88,887 to $94,229, a matter of six per cent.
The councillors' pay has increased by seven per cent. This is not to mention that they are spending thousands of dollars as "expenses."
No wonder these same "public servants" have to increase the cost to the average citizen of having our garbage picked up, by a whopping 4.5 per cent.
As a senior citizen living alone who rarely needs to take the garbage can to the curb for pick-up (maybe once every three weeks) this increase angers and disgusts me.
