Gaming - all risk no reward?

Re: Cuts in Gaming Grants, Citizen, Jan. 28.

When the B.C. Liberals campaigned on no gaming expansion because of harm to families caused by gambling, a lot of people agreed and supported them at the polls.

After being elected, they changed their tune completely and began expanding gambling in B.C.

To quell the furor and disbelief of this blatant disregard of an election promise, they stated "funding to charities will be increased." We thought if charities receive more gaming revenue it's not all bad.

Now this same government has cut back on funding to charities causing some to consider closing!

Where are our local MLAs on this pathetic situation? Or are they cowed by the Solicitor General?
