A short time before Christmas, you announced that the Canada Winter Games wearing apparel was available at Canadian Tire.
My wife and I went out to purchase items that we would use for Christmas presents across Canada and into the United States. We thought "What a wonderful way to advertise the Games and give a beautiful once-in-a-life-time gift."
We were very upset when we saw that the quality was very poor. The T-shirts and hoodies were made in Mexico and China. I am sure we could buy equal quality or better for a lot less in many stores in the city. The colours are drab and dull with very poor reference to our great city. The price of around $25 for a T-shirt and $50 for the hoodie were ridiculous for what we would be getting.
I realize that you want to keep expenses down but I also believe that you missed a great opportunity to get a very good start to advertise the games. There were five people there when we were there and they all walked away very disappointed.
Please get good quality, hopefully made in Canada, and clean and bright colours that we would be proud to send to others.
We will pay the added price if the quality is there.
My wife and I expected to spend a few hundred dollars on gifts for Christmas, we were sadly disappointed. So are the people signed below and many others we have spoken to.
