Frustrating theft

Is nothing safe anymore?

I have to ask myself this question after my son's new bike that he purchased this spring was stolen out of our carport either in the wee hours of the morning or during the day while we weren't home on Oct. 28.

Before anyone says anything, yes the bike was locked up but that didn't seem to matter one bit because the lock was cut and the bike is gone.

Whoever stole the bike definitely came prepared as the beefy metal bike lock that was protecting my son's prized possession was cut and off they went with his bike. I am so very disheartened and saddened for my son and extremely angry that someone out there figured it was OK to invade our private property and steal my son's bicycle. Even when we take precautions to ensure our hard earned items won't go missing there is no guarantee. How sad it is that we live in a time where anything and everything we own is not safe against heartless thieves.

I remember growing up and we never locked our car doors or our house doors and now every little thing that we own of any value has to be nailed down. So very sad.

Here is some information on the bike and if anyone has seen it or has any information that could help us find it. The bike was a 2016 Devinci Jackson men's mountain bike purchased from Ruckus. It had a red frame with the work Devinci written in large silver/grey letters and the work Jackson written in orange letters. I have reported this to the RCMP and they have an open file for this with the serial number of the bike and our information.
