I did not participate in any of the 'hoopla' surrounding having the Olympic torch run through Prince George; however, I did look out my window when I heard the thunder of the exploding fireworks overhead. I could not enjoy the display of completely frivolous spending. How much more well spent the money would have been had it been used to help educate our children, feed the hungry, house the homeless, or take care of the sick and elderly. Where are our priorities as a society?
