We are sad to hear about the closing of the Achillion/Mykonos restaurant and taverna.
It must have opened its doors at about the same time as we first moved to Prince George, and for the next 25 years it became almost always our first choice for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings and for entertaining out-of-town visitors.
Sometimes for none of those reasons, but simply because we wanted a good Greek meal, and we were never disappointed.
After we moved away, about 10 years ago, we have come to town once or twice a year, and made a point of having at least one lunch at the Mykonos, where we were always greeted warmly by the same friendly waitress who had been there since the day it opened.
What a pity that all such good things must come to an end.
