Soon hundreds of rail cars of raw logs a day will be leaving Mackenzie. I wonder where they are going?
The Mackenzie forest district is huge with little pine. There are enough trees here to provide a fibre supply to most sawmills in Northern B.C. for the next decade or two. Transporting by rail now provides a cheap and efficient way to transport the logs to your mill.
A guaranteed fibre supply for your mill for years to come means can keep your job, stay in your community and live with your family, instead of having to get retrained under the B.C. Jobs Program.
This is good news and with an election coming, I'm surprised you all don't already know about it.
Once the log is loaded on a rail car it can go anywhere cheaply and efficiently. The logs could go to 100 Mile House, Quesnel, Burns Lake, Prince George or wherever they are needed to keep mills running and you employed.
But! I have worked in the forest industry for over 30 years and much to my disappointment I have come to realize, since the Liberals have taken over that the safety and well being of the individual forest worker is not that important to them.
So, I would not be surprised that some if not all, of the logs will turn West at Prince George and go to Prince Rupert., be loaded on ships and sent to China, along with your job.
I strongly suggest you find out where these logs are going, unless you want to build a pipeline.
