Re: March 14 article by Todd Whitcombe "fluoride can help improve dental health
Your article sure gave a positive spin to keeping fluoride in our water. I can navigate the Internet somewhat, so I searched out "dangers of fluoride in infant formula." The information I read was attributed to the Journal of the American Dental Association. The article stated that very young children have the highest risk for tooth damage from fluoride and it can actually destroy their teeth. Infant formula reconstituted with fluoridated water can provide up to 200 times more fluoride that breast or cow's milk. Do you consider this a safe amount? Most young parents probably can't afford to buy bottled water to make formula. Since fluoride is also absorbed through the skin, when being bathed, these children are being bombarded with fluoride. Just how much fluoride are these babies being subjected to? Did you take babies into account when you wrote your article or was it only based on adults? It seems to me that the very children you claim fluoride is protecting is actually causing them harm. It sure keeps the dentists busy when these children get older though, doesn't it?
