Five teenagers saved by seatbelts

I would like to thank the people who were willing to help the five shaken up teenagers, who were in a serious, yet non-injury sustaining car accident due to bad road conditions, on Feb. 24, 2012.

All five teenagers T.S, D.D, EX, K.D and M.L were wearing their seatbelts, which truly saved their lives and allowed them to walk away from the accident with no injuries.

When the 1993 Ford Explorer hit icy roads and slid, Thomas, my brother, tried his hardest to keep them on the road. He hit the snow bank, rolled and flipped on Highway 16 between Mount Robson and Jasper. They are lucky to be alive.

The tires, as you read before, came off during the impact of the landing. All three windows were smashed during the accident.

The Ford Explorer was written off and their belongings were everywhere. I would like to thank the RCMP constable, CN Rail Crew, the truck driver who stopped to help and anyone else who may have stopped to help and made sure these teens were alive, safe and called the police. Thoughts and prayers went out to them on the road trip to Edmonton in such bad road conditions. I, being a sister of one of the teenagers in the accident, found this to be scary. But I am thankful that everyone in the Ford Explorer got out of the accident with no injuries.

But the memories of the 1993 Ford Explorer will never be forgotten.
