Few transit options for workers

I just saw a headline that said the City of Prince George wants to increase ridership on the city buses and I feel their solution is to start catering to the working man and woman as well as they do the university.

I see no buses going into the areas that have real industry or workers that need rides every day, twice a day, examples being the BCR industrial site , and the mills at the end of PG Pulpmill Road. These men and women are the heads of families and they are the ones that decide how their families get from "Here to There." They need to have confidence in the safety of the system for their growing busy families.

The 91 leaves Spruceland and goes down the highway and onto North Nechako Road. What a waste. It should be going down to Carney and going across the Carney Street bridge so it could drop and pick up the workers working in the little industrial area down there. Instead after a long day's work on a rainy or wintery day they have to walk all of the way down to Christian Cedars School to catch the bus. Who wants to do that before or after a shift of work?

I think they should start catering to the working person's needs a little more and the schedules that they need and there would have more riders, and consistent riders that need the savings in their households. It's far less of a cost if you can take a bus to work than use your own car as long as the bus is reliable.
