Happy to read Mr. Van Dijk's letter in Friday's Citizen.
At least there are two of us here that are insulted and angered over the horrendous overnight hike of gas prices in this area.
What is wrong with Prince George people that we seem not to be angered or upset with this dictatorship of big gas companies?
Come on, we all know this isn't fair and we have put up with it over the years without hardly a peep from anyone. We seem to be a bunch of wimps and complainers but suffer it with a stiff upper lip.
Even our MPs from Ottawa, our MLA's from Victoria and our municipal government don't even try to do anything, or they just don't care.
They may be able to afford these extreme prices (you know, add it to their expense accounts), but many of us are finding it hard to put food on the table.
Sadly, we need gas in our cars to get to work or even to transport our children to school, get to doctor's appointments, etc.
Write your letters of protest to the local papers and to our politicians to let them know that we are fed up and won't take it anymore.
Show some spunk.
Just because we happen to live beyond Hope doesn't mean we are not worth some respect.
We fight for other causes, why not this one?
