I have been reading the editorials, watching all the propaganda on TV and listening to all the opinions of the "experts" on the radio about the pros and con of the purposed Enbridge Gateway Pipe Line and I'm still as much in the dark as I was from the start.
We all know what that people can take statistics and manipulate them to make their point of view read the way they want them to read. Enbridge and their experts have painted a brilliant picture for us, saying everything will be rosy and we, along with our environment will all prosper and live happily ever after.
The people who are against the pipeline, including the socialist opposition, along with their "experts," are turning it into a political football. So far the only politician who hasn't jumped on the bandwagon for it or against it is our premier, who seems to be playing it close to her chest. I think this is a good idea, it's like an old poker player once told me -- "You don't show your hand until the last card is played."
I don't think it matters, because the people who have the most to gain will have the last word on the subject -- our federal government, Enbridge and the Province of Alberta. The feds along with Alberta will have a wind all in revenue taxes and it goes without saying what Enbridge will gain.
Later, if all the doom and gloom experts are right and we do have a colossal oil spill, the politicians who pushed the project through, being good politicians will just sit back enjoying their fat pensions and blame someone else. In the meantime, a lot of people will be taking up a lot of free media space.
