Evening in Pink inspiring

Wow, what a great event! Thanks to Monica Peacock and all the volunteers and businesses in this city that made this such an inspiring evening. My daughter (very young) was diagnosed with breast cancer 2009.

Wow, what a great event! Thanks to Monica Peacock and all the volunteers and businesses in this city that made this such an inspiring evening.

My daughter (very young) was diagnosed with breast cancer 2009. As her parents it was extremely difficult to watch your child go through all the agonizing hurdles of breast cancer.

My daughter and I had the opportunity to attend this event, and, with great admiration, that we recognize the people who gave up their free time to make us all aware how common breast cancer is among young women.

I never realized until it happened to our daughter. It's only then you find out so much about the disease.

Our radiologists and doctors have to take our young women more seriously when they find a lump and not wait so long to begin investigating the matter further.

They need to take action immediately and not wait months before they do.

For some reason there is a belief that women in their 20s and 30s are too young to have breast cancer, so there are often delays in investigating the matter further.

The evening of pink was very meaningful to our family and friends.

Bif Naked was absolutely inspiring with her heartfelt speech. It really helped me as a mother to get into the head of what my daughter was feeling while going through this.

Unfortunately, there was only one thing to mar this event. It was the three people (I think you know who you are), who were standing in the back of the room laughing out loud and being very rude throughout the speeches.

I have to wonder if any of you have been touched by cancer; if not, I hope you never are.

If you have been, then shame on you!

This is no laughing matter and more respect should be shown to those who have had their lives forever impacted by this terrible disease.

Overall though, the evening was very well put together, with beautiful music, great dinner and most of all, great speakers and volunteers. Thanks to all of you.
